It has been nine years since the tragic loss of KC Toups, DVM (LSUSVM Class of 2009) in an automobile accident. 

The K.C. Toups LSU School of Veterinary Medicine Endowment Fund created by K.C.'s family now has a balance of $125,000 because of the generosity and support of people like you. We have reached our goal and are now able to provide an annual scholarship award of at least $5,000 to a deserving student. Additional funds raised will continue to increase the amount of the scholarship awarded each year. The average veterinary student graduates with a stundent loan debt of over $150,000. 

In addition, we have created the K.C. Toups, DVM Memorial Foundation which is committed to providing scholarships to local high school FFA seniors who enroll in an agricultural major at a state university here in Louisiana. 

The majority of endowment funds are generated by the annual Kause for Critters 5k Run/Dog Walk and Silent Auction. The funds from this event also help Hope for Animals, a non-profit 501c3 no-kill animal rescue, to continue to rescue and rehome hundreds of unwanted pets in this area who would otherwise die of disease, starvation, or euthanasia. 

The tenth annual, "Kause for Critters", a 5k run/dog walk and silent auction will be held at Peltier's Park in Thibodaux the morning of Sunday, April 5, 2020.

Other costs associated with this event are food, water, music, snacks, insurance, etc. Offsetting these expenses with donations will allow the maximum amount of proceeds to go directly to the endowment, K.C. Memorial Foundation, and the needy pets of LaFourche Parish.
